Minister Carroll O'Leary

Carroll O'Leary was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, and as a toddler moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. In that city he graduated from High School, and later he moved to Tacoma, Washington to attend the University of Puget Sound. He graduated in 1974 from the University of Washington, with a BA in English Literature, and minor studies in Environmental Issues and Interpersonal  Communications.

Carroll attended the First Methodist Church of Coeur d'Alene as he was growing up, but never during that time did he give his life and heart to Christ.

In August, 1984, Carroll came to meet Jesus on one of his road trips as a traveling salesman. He received spiritual milk and then meat at Calvary Chapel in Spokane, Washington.

His spiritual journey has been an experience of learning to let God lead him, sometimes stepping out ahead of Him, and sometimes hesitating for too long, but steadily being directed toward the call to the pulpit. He has served as an usher, worship leader, teacher, church elder, Men's ministry co-leader and he has recently served as preacher at an extended care center in Boise, Idaho. He has responded to the call of God to the pulpit at St. Paul Baptist Church.

Carroll met the beautiful Sam McIntosh in 1984, and she consented to be his wife in December that same year. They have been married 26 years, and she brought two children to the marriage: Son Scot, who lives in the Seattle area, and Daughter Kelly, who calls Santa Monica, California, her home. Carroll brought one child to the marriage, daughter Arwen. Arwen and her  husband Aaron have two sons, and are living in Vancouver, Washington.   Carroll and Sam have lived in Boise, Idaho, for thirteen years, and call the City of Trees their home on Earth.

Bro. O'Leary has long held in his heart the knowledge and faith expressed by Paul in his Letter to the Galatian church: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)

He encourages believers to remember every day what the psalmist sang: “This is the day which LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24)

Carroll's mission in this life is twofold: To seek the lost, preaching the Gospel of Christ, that they might accept the sacrifice that Christ offered on the Cross, shedding His perfect and innocent Blood that we who are guilty might be saved. He has also been called to teach the Word of God to His children, encouraging them to glorify God in their walk with Him.
