Minister Jerry Baber
Jerry Baber was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Alice and Eugene Wayne Baber. His family moved to Sacramento, California when Jerry was about 7 years old. He was raised in the Sacramento area. He attended Mt. Herman Baptist Church and that is where he gave his life to Christ.
Jerry attended Grant High School in Sacramento and received a football scholarship to Boise State University. He graduated in 1976 from Boise State and went on to work at Hewlett Packard, where he worked as an engineer for 30 years before retiring.
Jerry has two daughters, Brandy Wolfe who lives in Seattle and Jaisha West who lives in Laughton, OK.
In 1998, Minister Baber began his own business, A Bar J Ranch, and continues to run it with his brother, Alan. He also holds the distinction of being the first and only African-American to win a major Futurity in the National Reined Cow Horse Association.
Jerry joined St. Paul under the leadership of Rev. Bobby Ashley. He has been involved in several ministries at St. Paul including the Laymen, Gospel Choir, and the Audio/Visual Ministry. Jerry also serves as Member-At-Large for the Advisory Board and is Vice President of the Seniors Ministry. He was called to the ministry in July, 200 and accepted his call in 2001.
